It's all story, no gameplay. Seriously, it's ENTIRELY linear right up until just before the final bits of the game, and even the optional stuff is pretty linear in itself.
This wouldn't be so bad if the story itself wasn't so one-dimensional. Yeah, you're running from authority because you've been cursed. WE GET IT. You don't need to continually show us it while going into every stupid little detail of how many levels of emo you can cram into your shallow-as-hell characters, Square!
If you're only at the start of the game, I can see why you'd like it. I did too, before I got utterly bored of the same tired old plot device being dragged out over and over to the exclusion of all else. And dear god, that paradigm system was hands-down the worst battle layout of any RPG I've ever played.
